they all at it again today
dompost and wirerapper times age both editorialising about the new direction for the health department.
richard prebble opines that the centralising the health system is the next best thing to communism; aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgh and the world is going to hell in a handbasket.
he tries to juxtapose centralising health as what happened when the berlin wall fell????
luke malpass casts it as a struggle between centralism and localism.
as always there are good reasons and the real reasons.
prebble first. a sometime member of the NZLP and Act MP, prebble was a dyed in the wool socialist till he hooked up with roger douglas and swallowed the austrian economists and the chicago school wholesale in a wholly irrational belief in the market to supply everything but most importantly give a payday to the protagonists who managed to strip the state of its assets.
who knows what sort of payback they gave him for the privatisation and dismemberment of the railways as they sold off every spare nut bolt and railway iron.
malpass is tory apparatchik who casts the same thing as a choice (good mafia word that one) between localism and centralism entirely ignoring the fact that the health system was broken up to prepare if for sale to private buyers.
he implies that restoring the health system to health is actually beyond the capacity of New Zealanders to accomplish. ??????????
just as well the nationals party lost its nerve before they actually got away with it.
they act as if the system is so huge that no one can understand it and only parts of it are capable of knowing what actually needs to be done. wah wah wah!
Andrew Little did himself no favours turning his back on the marijuana referendum but he is on a winner here. Who knows what the reason are for his antipathy towards pot as he never once stated them and it seems that there is a little gang of pseudo christians in the caucus who have taken the position that using pot is a moral issue and doesn't matter. They believe in pithiatism as they are convinced of their own self righteousness.
