watched a low tech version of the Muscle Shoals doco last night.
Bono: " we heard it and we wanted some"!
Fantastic.
Louie Louie  just there for fun.
hehehehe.
Then I loaded up the media player and let her rip with all the good stuff.
Watched a tv compilation of the Streets of San Fran Cisco the other night.
NO machine guns.
No cell phones.
No serial killers.
Just good acting and great plotlines and dialogue.
They either cant or wont do it like this anymore.
hmmmmm.

went to upper hutt yesterday.
fantastic.
spend most of my time talking about the old days.
how it was a mission to get down to Welly and find a copy of LOuie Louie.

stopped to talk to an old guy on my way to the bus.
He has Leukemia.

Our band was on its way to the USA when our guitarist up and died with it.
Probably just as well.
We weren't famous but we were hot.
good enough to make it over there.
still young and callow and most of us would have gone down in a blizzard of coke smack booze broads and anything else.
aint life grand .

UPs to Grant Smithies for boosting the WCC Library's vinyl collection.
It was absolutely fantastic in the old days for the best  music but I was surprised he never mentioned the brains and the driving force behind the acqusitions.
I am not going to mention their name because it is not my prerogative but when they left the WCC they took a position at the Alexander Turnbull Library.
Dig a little deeper Grant and lets here it for the man.

I have to say that one of my favourite  albums was one made by Hank Williams just before he died with one track in particular "The Alabama Waltz" being a hit whenever I play it for the old folks.
Even Jimi did stuff in 3/4 and you can disguise it as 6/8 if you are careful with the accents.

Great stuff pre the digital revolution.
He does not think much of some of the protagonists and it is easy to see why.

The reason why the allies won was not so much the men although some were brilliant but the preponderance of Materiel and expendable personnel.

Got the word this morning that my back porch is rotten and needs replacing.
Balderdash.
The world was the new one will look good.
You say you need money so why are you wasting it on something that is entirely unnecessary!
all it needs is the panes reputtied and a new one and a paint job and it will be as good as new.
There is no ROT at all so whoever made this decision is either blind or stupid.

the reason Russia is in syria is because they (syria) is a client state of the old USSR and and now the CIS because they want a warm water port in the mediterranean. qed.
it might be easy to think they are just fighting for the hell of it but not even Vlad would do that.
