sometimes you win, sometimes you lose...

Town today. Very cold.
There was a girl busking with a flute.
Beautiful tone and plenty of wind.
Just like how a flute should be played.
See Tom Scott playing the old interrogatives game again.
Why do all these people think they are either a) lawyers using rherotical devices or b) so self centred and insecure that they must ask the whole world to agree with them?
I dunno. do YOu?
anyway, big win for Barack Obama at the supreme court. Striking down unconstitutional states legislation.
Too many dweebs running round these days who want the world to do what they say.
Sorry guys but it doesn't work like that!
No one on the bus going up but it was full coming home.
The old, the lame and mothers with kids all rocking it up.
If someone had of started a song I think the whole bus would have started singing along!
Yay.
meet you at the back of the blue bus, blue bus.
found a Jamie Lee Burke and an Ian Rankin for cheap and the book of a movie I saw at the Regent in Masterton back in the 50's, "Batrtle HYmn Of The Republic. About a chaplain (Dean E. Hess)who became a fighter pilot.
Usually its the other way around.
As I recall the movie had aerial shots of a P47 Thunderbolt but  the illustrations in the book show he flies a P51 Mustang.
Thats Hollywood dudes.
tonight the remnants of the Hamilton County BLuegrass Band playing at the Carterton Town Hall.
Yeehaw.
and one for Dimebag Darrel.
Nobody deserves that.

time to kick TVNZ in the bum

a winters day in a deep and dark December.
its down under down here and it is very cold..
strong southerlies sweeping up from the southern ocean.
rain and snow down to the foothills.
45 hits yesterday.wow.
the big one was an item on the newsreaders at TV1.
They cant help themselves using interrogatives.
Interrogatives are dishonest, disrespectful and a logical fallacy but the talking heads think that they are above it.
Its even worse on Radio New Zealand.
The announcer on 9-n00n has just adopted the self centred attitude that the whole world revolves around them and that if they personally say so then anything goes. Doesn't it?
Sometimes it sounds that they are short on their lithium and at other times it just sounds common.
you know: COMMON.
But because of the job structure in the media in New Zealand then they are invulnerable to any critique whatsoever and overweening in their arrogance.
Because the mass of kiwi proletarians can only think of kissing the media butt then they are content to bask in the adulation of the unwashed.
Not good.
Jim Hickey is one of the worst.
He is sly and he thinks if he puts his interrogatives at the front of his sentences then he is not actually using them.
think again Jimmy.
Ask yourself why you cant speak for yourself?
where did you get a warrant to speak for the whole of New Zealand.
Why cant you say for example," that is a lovely picture", instead of saying, "isn't that a lovley picture".
Why do want to have everyone agreeing with you.
that is the mark of self centredness when you cant speak for yourself.
self centred people have no centre and they are always trying to fix the centre but it always moves somewhere else at that exact moment you think you have found it.
It also is the mark of co-dependency when you have to ask people to agree with you. Isn"t it?
They are supposed to set some sort of standard but the only standard they seem to be able to recognise is the one that has catapulted them to some sort of celebrity in a small pond and that is enough.
they have arrived.
If TVNZ is privatised then I am sure that commercial owners would not tolerate any criticism along these lines and they would do something about it immediately.

And am listening to another asskisssing session about the New Zealand Film Industry on the radio right now.
Its all about who you know.
Remember Rodger Fox at the Jazz awards asking the zoobies how many of them had bought any of the albums up for gongs.
NONE!
anyway
All I know is I dont want to know any of them.
I aint gonna kiss anyones arse just to be someone in the NEW ZEALAND film industry.
New Zealand films are mawkish, lightweight, lacking in dramatic tension and invariably underpinned with a false premise.
i.e. they are fake and unauthentic.
e.g. the mute in the piano. Mutism is a severe psychological disorder and you cant just switch it on and off because you feel like it.
So can anyone out there name a NZ movie.
bet you cant!
hahahahahahahahahhahaa.

Hi Boss
The media up to their tricks here. Every time they get the chance they run a story that is perjorative or crummy.
they hide behind the anonymity of fake bylines or soundbites just to say something horrible..
they are pretty ghastly.

Hi Bob. Been working over Spanish Harlem Incident from the Byrds album. I really love that album and it is wonderful to play along to. Over the years it just gets better and better.
Why is that?

If you can play the guitar then you too can learn to play most of the songs on this CD!

Supposed to be a 'JDUB' band but I just like the music!

just for fun funnies...

this will give ya something to do at night.

money honey... thats what I want. Bundesbank send me some Euros!

Bundesbank says no to a banking union in the EU.
Says it is back door pooling of sovereign debt unless accompanied by fiscal union that allowed control over national budgets.
There ya have it dudes.
Ya dont get nuthin for nuthin and squealing like children aint going to cut it.
NME (New MusicaL Express) says "Love Will Tear Us Apart" best song from the last 60 years.
Well they would say that.
Best POP song of the last 60 years has to be Bang Bang by Cher.
I cant win a Readers Digest lottery but I like their nature books.
Found the 'living world of Animals' in the Family Store today.
Nice and glossy with good stuff!
Old BIddy just asked me to turn my noise down.
Arkansas Traveller.
I said No I didnt mind turning it down and no it wasn't noise it was music.
Then she walked away.
So: she just didnt want me to hear it?

triple ornette coleman.

bit light on flow but hey endless invention and creativity with doubled passages with don cherry on miniature plastic trumpet.
light on tone but the shape of jazz to come?

Hi Bo.

whats wrong with new zealand part vi.

The US state department says NZ is a source for child prostitution and Celia Lashlie says boys today don't like their fathers because they don't have the courage of their convictions and wont stand up against their wives.
there is a common thread here but nobody wants to really do anything about it.
As long as NZ men have had their balls cut off by their wives and the nice people don't really believe that families in New Zealand prostitute their kids then its all OK.
ISN'T IT!

and
the only way to get out of this mess is use techniques from Freudian psychiatry. The other stuff where the therapist does all the talking just does not work
I wonder why?

See in New Zealand everybody knows everything but they never seem to get any results?
It just goes round and round and somebody else gets the funding.
And the VAN!

See here in New Zealand, for example, we believe that the way to stop smoking is via the technique taught in the Allan Carr book which is just a heap of shit. This involves repressing the desire to smoke instead of facing it head on and dealing with it.
See thats the NZ way. Repress it, dont talk about and pretend it has gone away.
Whereas the method described in "How to Stop Smoking and Stay Stopped For Good" by Gillian Riley tells you how to feel it and heal it.
Learning how to be honest with yourself.
It takes practice and persistence but in the end it works.

anyway.Dave
Dave Letterman.
Nice tie today Dave.
the orange,black and white one.
Just drew out all my credit from the poser company today and bought the uhf aerial and the box and now I'm digital.wanna see my digit?
First time I have ever seen you and the gang clearly for about three years!!!!!!!!!!
its great.
especially when big red exploded.....
And I saw Felicia's smile in all its radiant glory for the first time!
Behind the big yellow Guild to match Pauls jacket.
Nice jacket Paul.
and Dave. DT is not Bingo Pyjamas..okay.

Okay guys... gottago.. I'm off to Uruguay...just kidding.

whats wrong with new zealand part 5. they dont read enough comics.

sumpins gone wrong..tooty froots.
every time the words become social issues or such the machine throws a wobbly.
doh.
whats wrong now.
big up s to Celia Lashley.
Tell it like it is Celia.
dont hold back.

okay so if you wanna play the blues then listen to these and you will have good luck for the rest of your life.
tracks 2 and 5 of teachin' are the basis of a whole new school.
beleive me kiddies.
and you haveta listen to Freddies album on its own for it is a monumental body of work with the tour de force Hideaway taking the honours.
It is the strength of the whole British music boom of the 60's that most of the music you heard you could copy and get good at it.
but you had to play hideaway for cred.
well some did.
Pete just played everly brothers riffs with distortion!!!!!!!!!!
anyway.
there it is.

now for something completely different...
