somewhere in this teeming orgy of evil...

wow! you know the rest.
found the mask of the red death and the fall of the house of Usher at the Baptist market on Belvedere road this morning.
A lady there has a good selection.
She will be back there next Saturday.
wahoooo.
Gonna terrify myself tonight!
Just have to dig Vincent Price.
He was the best.

Been going flat out on the new VLC media player the ENZED PC Services installed on my laptop.
It has a speed control on the playback.
After all these years I finally worked out the extra bar in Mr Tambourine Man and the hemiolas in the break on Brown Sugar.
I used to think there was something wrong with my axons but no its just obtaining the ability to play 3 over 4.
According to Keef Mick worked that one up himself.
Congratulations Mick.

Good luck to Len Brown.
The people have spoken.
They want some one with balls and not some loudmouth querulous pipsqueak with tight underpants to be their leader.

The right in Auckland seem to rely on a snivelling blogger who is getting creepier and creepier by the day.
Psychologically a real case.
A sublimated criminal who reacts against his impulses by railing against the people doing the things he wishes he could do but hasn't got the guts to unless its stealing off insurance companies.
That's right.

When it comes to mans endeavours my heros are Genghis Kahns horsemen sweeping over the steppes and the men who flew the aircraft in WW11.
Every mission contained the possibility of going down in flames to  Valhalla.According ot one Battle of Britain pilot they just got used to it.

bedside reading is a compendium of the history of civilisation.
too many kings.
they all had a go and every civilisation has left something for the rest in ideals, jurisprudence or just bravery in the face of overwhelming odds.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.

supply and demand....

The truth is in the highest supply but the lowest demand!
strange that.
Congrats to Karl Dufresne in the Dompost this a.m.
My apologys to Bob Dylan.
As Karl pointed out Dylans Remarks were about an historical incident and the complainers in France were not even born then.
and did they themselves go back and check the veracity of Bobbys assertion?
I bet they didn't.
and Great piece again by Karl on erstwhile academic Camille Nakhid who is arguing for special priviliges for minorites and not incidentally including her own.
Nakhid is using the discredited, invalid claim/argument that it takes one to know one.
If that is true then we are all ones and nobody can know anybody else!
Well the fact of the matter is that Maori people get special consideration because of historical events and quite rightly so but for the rest it should be made clear that people in general have much more in  common than they do in divergency.
Nakhid is just making a naked grab for power.
tee hee.

any questions?

Went to Masterton this morning.
Was going to go to the buskers show at the library but in the end it was the same glory, food, money hogs taking over the show.
I am not going to put myself out for these people.
its all getting too tired boring and predictable.
no soul.
just gimme gimme gimme.
either its amateur day or it isn't.
In the end I went back down town and gave some money to the guy in the street.

He's honest.

when the earth moves again...

Lotsa noise doodos.
heheheheehehehe.
anyway the rag has an item this morning on a Victoria University doctoral student of linguistics.
Keiran File.
more noise?
his dissertation was about teaching sports stars to speak properly.
why?
did they grunt beforehand.
just joking kiddies.
I hope he told them that using interrogatives was apart from being banausic is an invalid mode of argument, deceitful and disrespectful.
forget all the crap about "tag endings".
that's just coronation street crap.
I realise that everyone is "DOING" it these days but that still doesn't make it right.
does it?
in fact it is pandering to those people who want to close off any further argument or questioning by using a nasty little linguistic trick.
isn't it?

nice little item in USA today.10 ways to stop your Xmas tree from catching fire!
dig it?

Uruguay.
Passed bill legalisisng cannabis yesterday.
good on them.
The main objections are the worry over cannibism taking hold and criminal activity.
The cannabism argument comes from studies of countries from the old British empire that had religious prohibitions against alcohol.
 Mainly Islam and Hinduism.
Man is always seeking to control his nameless fears and his feelings even if it is only an illusion.
But the "authorities" want to keep this control for themselves.
They don't trust the people.
hmmmmmmmmm.

look for the Arlo Guthrie LP.
Its a corker with neato tunes that anyone with a modicum of skill can learn to play for themselves quite readily.
You don't have to subscribe to the processed pap fed out on the airwaves.
You can do it yourself.
Homespun Tapes and Records have just released their Xmas catalogue so there is plenty of instructional material for the budding musician to cut their teeth on.

firs to the left, then to the right. this old mill grinds day and night...

I get a bit of flak for featuring black people on my blog.
tough.
the doods who complain should learn to pplay the piano themselves instead of bleating redneck shit in my ear!
dig.
But what about the firepower.
send lawyers drugs and money the shit has hit the fan!
hehehehehehehehe.
do the boogie woogie all night long.
thats all night long.
Adolf Galland Played the boogie woogie.
drained all the excess adrenaline off after being shot at all day!
Alexis Korner played the boogie woogie too!
sorry but I cant seem to get a piccy of him at the moment.
He was kid Jewish refugee in London early in WW11 when he first heard Jimmy Yancey do it and he was hooked there and then.

Gallands mother taught him!

so there ya go.
getting in tune with the straight and narrow
getting in tune with the old piano
mumble mumble mumble.
still working on this solo from peter gellings book on blues solos.
its called down in the delta.
a flick of the wrist.hammer on and pull off and man you could be picking cotton yourself.
Its all over now.
music is limited and processed and pro tooled and now its sort of like mush.
just like everything else/
?????????????
all the stuff I like is historical now and nobody cares.
hmmmmmmm.
wah wah wah.
Still I can do it and thats the fun.
I dont need no record company deal or fan base or f*c*book or tweeter.
I dont give a shit if you like it or not.
make your own kind of music
sing your own special song.
make your own kind of music.
even if nobody else sings along.

anyway.
Barack Obama.
What did you do to the Times of London Boss.
They always getting their stuff reprinted in the local two minute silence doing you down.
You must have really pissed them off.
Give em another one.
Just like the other one.
ho ho ho.

new zealand has got talent...

sure has.
congrats to the girl who won the competiton/talent quest.
she said that making a living from music in New Zealand is difficult if not impossible.
So why is there  no variety programme to feature all these people who were in the competition?
is watching them face off the medium and the message.
if they win then give 'em  a 100 grand and seeyalater.
hmmmmmm....
The thing is I like watching the amateur rugby league on channel 24.
If they keep playing this programme during the winter then the standard of play will get better exponentially and goodbye the pay per view channel as the players lift their game.
we can go back to free to air sports in a jiffy.
ditto new zealand has talent.
you only have to surf the channels to see the unending supply of dross that is called music nowadays.
mainly dweebs working out their sado/masochistic tendencies.
lets have some real people doing real music instead of all this hyper nonsense.
is that too much to ask?

Nice to breathe some Hutt Valley fresh air!
Yesterday I wne to town on an 3CD of Bluegrass oldies.
