Oliver Kamm is a writer for the Times of London.
Does not seem as if he has read Robert Birchfields book and he is in thrall to pinker and chumpsky.
Pinkler who started out as a linguist and then became a cognitive scientist and now has pretensions to being a philosopher has it seems never read John Locke.
Nor has Chumpsky.
They both live down the hall from each other at MIT and both are blinded by their own brilliance..
Pinker should really add writer of books to his CV.
He desperately wants to become famous and known but he is a weak reed.
He and chumpsky both believe that language is innate and not an acquired skill.
Tell that to the !kung.
This suits chumpskys agenda because if language is innate then so is socialism.

he is another silly little man like Karl Popper who wants to snare people into bothering themselves with trivial nonsense instead of getting down to the nitty gritty.

any language that wants to call itself a language has an inner logic of its own.
every utterance is a proposition and all propositions are either true or false or something else.
If it it is not possible to negate a word then it is not really a word.
it is just a sound!
