stood and listened to a cd in the regent theatre bookshop.
it took a moment but then realised it was jimmy reed without guitar and the melody all on the sax.
lovely stuff.
I knew there was one at the warehouse in upper hutt so I hot footed it down there today and bingo it was there.
on the train.
it whizzed along today.
back story is the jamaican nun mary ignatius davies from the sisters of mercy order who taught all the horn players.

I also got a lonnie donnegan double compilation and a three cd set from the decca vaults with some good stuff on it which is not always guaranteed and 7double cd jazz masters getting the heave ho for 47c each. lester young, miles davis, chet baker, art tatum, clifford brown. teddy wilson and earl hines. woweee. earl is the most.
