The pou were alright in my opinion. just not big enough and in the wrong place!
hehehehe.
They were never going to make an impact.
New signs:
a big cutout of a Fokker Triplane or a Corsair would be imaginative and obviously not something designed by a committee to assert difference in a land of homogeneity!
If it was my choice and because we are a land of cows I would have a big sign done in western lettering.
Now that would make a statement!

I see the combined councils have gone with a wedding planner for their new economic adviser.

all bluff and bluster
when I was a boy Masterton, Carterton and Greytown had fridge factories, freezing works, plastic factories, textiles and shoe factories, telephone equipment assembly plants, and truck assembly plants.
Now the area has become a big oldies" PHARM" and dormitory suburb.
btw.
all these councils have so called economic development officers but I have never actually seen one economic development from any one of them.
why is this!
ps.
the wedding planners job was never advertised but engineered in a star chamber by one Margaret Bazley who never ever created one actual economically productive job in her life.
