this beautiful jewel in the middle of the Auckland central city is about to be desecrated and defiled by a memorial to the people who died in an excursion to antarctica where the aeroplane had data fed into its flight computer that was not notified to the aircrew resulting in a collision with Mount Erebus on Ross Island on the Ross Dependency in Antarctica.

Erebus is known in classical greek mythology as the portal to hades.

anyway the upshot is that a concatentation of forces including closet trotskyites in the Auckland City Council have taken it upon themselves to dump a steel concrete monstrosity into the middle of one of the Citys most peaceful havens in the middle of the urban sprawl.
 Why the relatives of the survivors should have any say in what happens in a city where they are not resident is a mystery all of its own but the bureaucrats interest is much easier to explain.

The park which is formally known as the Parnell Rose Gardens has acquired the sobriquet Robbies Park after a one time mayor of Auckland sir Dove Meyer Robinson, a dyed in the wool tory but nevertheless an untiring advocate for Auckland. The bureaucrats in question are led by a gang of imported leftists  of a type that worms its way into the governance of an organisation without ever having to declare its political affiliations but committed to revising history in moves that Stalin would have been proud of .

It should be noted that the present mayor has been pussy whipped by this gang and is showing the backbone of a jellyfish in preventing this trashing of a name and an environmentally necessity in the concrete world.
