Masterton does not need a new town hall.

It has one already and it just need strengthening.

Mayor Lyn Patterson has become expert at flummery, bureaucratic weasel words and is behind all sorts of devious half truths while retailing them at full price.

Borrowing $30,000,000 for a NEW civic centre, read town hall will not promote the social, cultural environmental and economic wellbeing of the community unless she means the builders and contractors who erect this totally un-needed edifice.

This gang of councillors  using their majority to force this issue are noo noo heads who are fixated if not hooked on spending money and think of all those free lunches at the architects, builders and other jobbers waiting in line for their share.

In truth they are lining their own nests because they have no real idea what culture or wellbeing is unless they put a dollar figure to it and it is your dollar!

They think they can read a few issues of house and garden and transform the town just by erecting a new building and getting their4 names on the plaque.

They would not dare do this shit if Sir Brian Lochore was still alive thats for sure.

Strip away their vibrating nonsense and they are merely little people trying to mix it with the big boys. They haven't got a clue

If you want to see what the proposed civic centre will look like ten years after erection then go and look at the tired and tacky NEW hospital. Cheap and nasty.
