Was disappointed by the gratuitous reference to the Skyhawk demobilisation and I take it to be a direct political assault on the government of the time. They were worn out and Rudge neglected to mention that at the time when New Zealand entered WW11 on the side of the allies the RNZAF had no front line fighter aircraft but superior training provided first class aircrew for bombers and fighters.
This book could have been done for half the cost on buff paper with inserted plates and better editing and the library copy I have will not last the distance due to its cumbersome overweight. And most of the illustrations are the same old ones going round the traps adinfinitum. There ya go mate
