"On August 6, 1946, almost seven years before her coronation as Queen, Princess Elizabeth was initiated as an honorary Druid into the Welsh Gorsedd by Archdruid Crwys Williams at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Mountain Ash, Glamorgan. As some may be aware, as poets and bards, Druids honor the natural world and the wisdom that can be learned by studying at the feet of Mother Earth. The most ancient of wise-folk, Druids have passed their knowledge from mouth to ear for millennia.
Despite the politics and the astonishing injustices perpetrated by European nobility, I have always respected Queen Elizabeth as a singular human being because of her simple faith, her true love of Nature and Natural World.
However superficial Elizabeth's Druidic initiation may have been, I still believe that she may have been invested with some deeper blessings and power than perhaps even she realized. As the longest-reigning female monarch in history, caretaker of ancient lands of magic and the Old Religions, one does have to wonder at such things."
