Great night on the teevee last night.
Two vey good documentaries on the natural history of the world and then "The Stones In Exile" for the complete opposite.
The decadence of the modern world where the only things that counts is drugs and money.
Women are extras.
They come with the territory.
Music is very much a matter of style and in the modern world we are told what to like by the arbiters of taste, viz the radio stations.
There is no choice.
They serve it up and you just gotta take it.
Just listen to the banal pap served up on 9-noone in the mornings.
Who chooses that crap?
Vapid whining gamines with bought solo's to spice it up but most of it is still piss weak effluvium from post modern nitwits who think music is ok before they get a job in an ad agency.
whine whine whine.
Anyway the Stones have always followed their own path and at their best the songs are not harmonically complicated but driven by ferocious energy.
And they are great to play along with.
There is always one or two that are perfect for the novice to learn the changes and get into it.
At the beginning their music was an amalgam of Jimmy Reed, Chuck Berry, Slim Harpo, Muddy Waters and Buddy Holly (hehehehe).
May the good lord shine a light on you.
May every song you sing be your favourite tune.
The hedge was busy this morning.
Finches
Tuis
Sparrows
et al.
sometimes I see a native hawk going after the local doves.
I'm gunna get me a gun.
All those people who put me down.
Better get ready to run.
Big item in this mornings rag about the arms trade in Africa.
It is awash with guns and ammo.
Mainly AK47's or knockoffs.
The march of civilisation I suppose?
Yeah right.
Dowse Art Museum.
They think they can do what ever they like just because its art.
You know.
Abrogate the human rights tribunal.
Its only art because they say so.
I think they are just bullshit artists!
and panderers to boot.
Tried to sign in to Bernard Hickeys new site JOURNALISM .ORG and post a comment but somehow I couldnt find out how to be enabled to BECOME!
any old how the comment I wanted to make was about Jeremy Rose on Mediawatch on Sunday mornings with Chris Laidlaw.
Like Laidlaw and the rest of the current crew on Radio New Zealand they are inveterate and persistent users of interrogatives which are an invalid mode of argument and dishonest and disrespectful but that does not deter them.
They are supposed to be asking people what they think.
Not telling them!
DIG?
Dunedin Longitudinal Study.
results purport to show that cannabis use by adolescents leads to a decline in i.q. later in life.
This sounds suspiciously like heavy metal poisoning to me.
Where could it come from?
Captan in the cloning process.
Colchicine in the polyploidal process.
Heavy metal in the clay balls used in hyrdroponics.
What are we doing to our kids?
