Had to laugh last night. A man is set upon by boy racers and dealt to and then he gets up on Teevee with the mayor of his burgh last night and says they have no problem with boy racers. Yeah right! have been reading Bertrand Russells essay on useless knowledge in his brilliant collection 'In Praise of Idleness' and "The two things most universally desired are power and admiration. Ignorant men can, as a rule, only achieve either by brutal means." First it must be noted that admiration is better if it is enforced and secondly the brutal means used by ignorant men in this day and age are mainly the infliction of noise from machines as it seems to be the only avenue open to boofheads to impose themselves. so look at me because i have a motabikee and take this noise and eat it. and the corollary is, "the world at present is full of angry self centred groups, each willing to destroy civilisation rather than yield an inch. To this narrowness no amount of technical instruction will provide an antidote". Here he is talking about mainly religious dogmatists but his quote is equally applicable to pimply faced arse wipes intent on releasing their truculent aggression on people just to piss them off because they aren't really capable of anything else except turning the key in a car and driving round in endless circles. WOW.
