I recall being in a video shop a few years back and a young couple were arguing about which movie to hire on their limited budget. He wanted some gore fest ans she wanted something nice.
I didn't hang around long enough to see what the decision was but later that evening I was taking a walk and happened to be outside their house (?) and I knew that because they were sitting on the steps and she would not go inside and watch the crap.
I hope he learned his lesson but the real lesson is that new zealanders are bombarded with horrific nastiness by the media, how many times has TV3 repeated the Fast and the Furious for instance while John Campbell peddles his sanctimonious crap on the early show, and furthermore the children are being beaten by their parents and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
But the mantra is its your choice to watch it or not.
