I am getting really pissed off with the music pedagogues in this country at the moment.
It seems to be the conventional wisdom that the Rolling Stones copied all their sixties songs and therefore its not good.
well that is a non sequitur and the fact is that due to better recording some if not all of the Rolling stones covers are better than the originals.
Furthermore when I was in a band we played those songs and yo better believe that they were the ones that got people dancing.
And they still do.
It is no coincidence that New Zealand band the Chants collapsed when they stopped doing R&B covers and tried to write their own stuff when they were not up to it/
And by R*B I mean the real stuff and not the gutted powder puff they crap they sell these days under somebody elses rubric because they cant sell music if it is called CRAP.
If I ever hear another kiwi band play April sun in Cuba because they have to to get a grade at skool then I will puke.
