top 3 guitar solos of all time...

No 1.
track 5 on Supersession.
an instrumental blues in C.
It has everything.
loud, soft, fast slow, arpeggios, scales, trills, vibrato and endless invention plus subtle flicks as light and delicate as a feather.
Nobody ever did it better.

No 2.
"it's too bad".
another toon in C.
in the 1950's the music industry was dominated by the 45 rpm singles jukebox market.
it demanded and endless supply of new material.
Freddy King and the gang at Syd Nathans King Records in Cincinnatti were absolute masters at inventing riffs and ryhtyhms with Freddy's liquid guitar punctuating each vocal and then an incredible solo that Freddy could peel off seemingly at will.
all driven forward by the insistent piano of Sonny Thompson that is close to be -bop!
This is the one that I dig!
dig?

No 3.
Have you ever loved a woman.
yet another  toon in C ?
hehehehehehe.
Eric Clapton was a devoted follower of  Freddy King and this is his version of another of Freddys mini masterpieces from the King label.
It had been covered by many others like BB King and I think it was written by Tampa Red but you will have to find that out for yourself.
Eric had recruited a band of 'top hands' for Layla but the sessions were desultory till Eric and co went to see an Allman Brothers concert and invited Duane to the sessions which Duane promptly kicked into high gear.
Apparently made with pigs nose mini amps the result is a propulsive force of the first magnitutde.
Crashing chord solos, dry rhythym chords that sparkle in the mix of overdrive and solo after solo burning up the middle.
Eric never did a better one than this.

Wanna buy a Martin Mars. $2.7 mill.
