look you guys I can understand your wish to honour your comrades and wish to do something about depression in sportspeople but you have to remember that you cant do anything about it.

Johns said afterwards that even though he had covered a few thousand miles and asked for help from the stones, pete townshend and the rest et al that however much money he raised it was not going to bring Ronnie back or cure him.
Now mental illness is not the same as physical but the reasoning is the same.
Depression is caused in the first five years of life and no amount of gum flapping is going to do anything about it unless the whole society is dismantled and reconstructed.

Acting as if something can be done by will alone is self defeating and obscuring the real reasons.
