found a tatty copy of Roland Beamonts memoir "My Part Of The Sky".
the chapters on the battle of France in ww11 are pretty harrowing and the romance of flying does not diminish or make up for in any way the deaths of the gallant bunch of airmen who died fighting for freedom from the nazi menace.
