new zealand is famous for getting bogged down in banal childish idiotic initiatives that eventually go nowhere.
new zealand needs more trees. that is a given
there is plenty of waste lands where oaks can be sown from the air and lots around cities and towns where oak forrests could be established.
however the narrative has been hijacked by blinkered ideologues who have never given a thought to any tree whatsoever in the past but see now is the time to kick the government to doing what they will just because they can.
mothers and dads get those kids out there gathering acorns and spreading them far and wide.
they will see these trees grow to maturity in their lifetimes!
