david keen on david seemore...

Seymour, preaches humility but projects arrogance. He speaks of healing and reconciliation but practises blame and division. He poses as the eloquent voice of democracy, but tacitly condones mob rule for the handful of votes it might swing towards his struggling ACT Party. He claims to be principled but practises shameless opportunism. His party was born out of a shameless betrayal of Labour principles by Roger Douglas and Richard Prebble. Its programme was foisted on to the public, totally without warning, with absolutely no pre-election disclosure in any manifesto. I remember well Douglas unashamedly boasting that the policies should be rammed through with all possible speed so as to preclude thorough public scrutiny and debate., ACT is the child of an unscrupulous, nakedly undemocratic political betrayal and nothing in the ensuing thirty-five or so years has washed away the taint of its birth.
