Item in Saturdays Dompost about Oriel College Oxford having their arm twisted by a group of students.
Their dignity has been affronted.
boo hoo.
They haven't got any dignity.
They are spotty little students who haven't done anything yet.
As for inclusivity then excluding Cecil Rhodes is a gross contradiction.
Let them read the whole history of Rhodes whose methods were questionable but these same students are not exactly liable to run off to Rhodesia and try and correct the regime there now.
Trying to correct the past with revisionist purges is not the way to go.
The pupose of history is to analyse the forces that shaped the present and not try and pretend it never happened.
These little committees who think they have rights to destroy the past are just jumped up little jerks who want to be able to say, "look what I done (sic)" when in reality they have done and achieved nothing.
