The Wairarapa is an area of recent settlement as the economic historians would have it but it was settled by people who had the interests of their fellows at heart as well as their own.
Now one and a half cenuries later the process of centalisation is about to take over.
There is no mention of efficiency in the Bible but that that is the catchcry of the lumpens who want to grab everything and will use every trick in the book to get their own way.
In the end all they want is to snare any economic benefits of low hanging fruit tha they can grab in the transition.
The powers tht be say that services are spread too thinly now and so I guess they want to thicken them and line their own pockets.
