Interesting leading article in todays Dompost concerning local body elections and representation.
One important issue was ignored completely and that is the handing over of the voting process to a private business?????????
this company has even had the cheek to insert themselves into the electoral process and make rules for the conduct of candidates and use of councils facilities to hold meetings.
this must stop and elections turned back to the councils to conduct themselves.
how can people make decisions when there is no centre and the election itself has no supervision of its own process.
we see with the wellington bus fiasco what happens when nitwits try to save dollars with some harebrained scheme and the whole thing turns to custard.
