Auckland, New Zealands largest city has embarked on a programme of eradicating exotic trees.
The latest floracide is to occur on a public reserve administerd by tupuna maunga who have decided in order to try and turn back th eclock and make themselves look important to denude Mt Albert of its stand of exotic trees to make way for who knows what but you can guarantee it has been guaranteed by experts.
The local politicians wont touch it for various reasons and in this case because the charge is being lead by an alleged member of the redneck angry rich right wing party hobsons choice.
Well the leaders of that party are rich idiots who fancy themselves and are really pissed off no one will listen to them even if they are rich.
However that is no excuse for felling a stand of mature trees just to make some irrelevant cosmetic adjustment to the landscape to try and recreate someones vision of yesterday.
