 The SST has a always been a right wing rag slyer than you think.

Today they printed an opinion piece by one jon johansson repeating the old shibboleth that governments lose rather than oppositions win.

He marshals several arguments to support his contention but on closer inspection they fail completely.

Helen Clark lost the 2008 election for two reasons.

In the first place the media ganged up on her led by simon dallow as head of TV1 with a mantra that it was nationals turn.

it was their turn to try and privatise everything they could and hand the education system over to private enterprise.

they wrecked the education systems payroll in a blatant act of self serving patronage and they let the health system run down in preparation for selling off too.

furthermore Helen Clark was let down by her media person one Brian Edwards who engaged in a personal duel with boag when he should have kept his eye on the ball.

johansson is trying to stick the knife into the present government in the hope of gaining some advantage in the next election when it is obvious to anyone that while he may have been chief of staff to winston peters in the first term of this government  that nz first is a cooked goose and Jacinda Ardern is on course to be New Zealands Angela Merkel.
