ruamahanga river storage plan nixed...

The proponents of the water storage plans have received a bloody nose with the withdrawal of the plan.

They have set up a big whinge but too late.

It was never a goer.

It was an attempt not to provide reserves  but to promote a private company by changing public water rights into private fungible property and selling water to the highest bidder.

The plan took no account of the downstream affects on the mighty aquifer or any other environmental concerns whatsoever.

It was supported by the growth at any cost gang who have  personal acquisitiveness as their one and only goal and to hell with anything else.
