Back in the 1960's the dead hand of conformity was covering the whole land.
all the great powers were up to it.
trying to stifle any kind of dissent and gear up for some sort of conflict that was either going to prove that communism was scientific or blow up the whole fucking world just for the hell of it.
it wasn't nice.
Only the hippeis resisted.
whether they did it right or no tis another matter but they proposed radical alternatives.
In the end the smartest ones joined the system and took what they could but others held on to the flicker of a flame that stil burned after the fire went out.
There have been a few more turns of the wheel since then but without the groundbreakers we would stil be shackled in a deadly arms race geared up to support the taking of global resources by force if necessary.
Now its every man for themself and the oil age is drawing toa close.
how it will work out is anybodys guess but finish it will.
