blue yodel no 9...

had to get new connector yesterday for the dvd and the telly.
They made to break!
anyway I had the Johnny Cash Show from the Library and they want it back so it all went past in a rush but it was fabulous.
I nearly cried.
Took me back to when it was all fun and we were young.
They were all on it too.
Everyone from Neil young to tammy wynette and bob dylan.
and louis armstrong too.
He played on several Jimmie Rodgers dates back in the thirties (last century)and jazz fans should remember that the great Charlie Parker always listened to c&w too to remind him about real arpeggios.
wonderful stuff.
I will watch the two episodes again tonight.
too much fun.
woke up this morning feeling chipper.
then thought I would listen to the radio but the music was awful.
All whining gamines and people with no involvement in their own music.
some sheila on 9-noon warbling over a watered down screaming jay hawkins riff from I put a spell on you.
not this kid.
when you look at neil young holding the whole of the Ryman Auditorium in the palm of his hand with just his guitar and song and James Taylor ditto and compare it to today there is no comparison.
We living in a world of reconstituted mush and dats de troof.
the whole lot all sounds fake.
Frank Zappa said that when you here that guy playing the blues turnaround  for the umpteenth time you know he means it.
Nowadays its al lhair and teeth and five minutes on TV and then pooof.
and btw one segment of the programme on RNZ was about digging up the remains of the first mission station in NZ and it wasn't good.
the guy was looking for some evidence to denigrate the missionaries.
f*ck him.
without potatoes, corn and pumpkins the Maori population would have been wiped out by the time the New Zealand Company and the rest of the settlers had their way so a bit of acknowledgement of the truth would not hurt instead of this left handed doing down that never seems to stop.
and
The Ashes are like the world cup of cricket.
Aren't they?
No brendon telfer they are not.
Where does Radio Sport get these unlearned barely literate drongos from, who seem to think that the whole world is a matter of opinion and other infantile nonsense.
barffffffff.

Hey Paul...
(Paul Shaffer)
Dave must of been a bit insecure yesterday.
Dusted off my copy of the best of W&S and will spin the vinyl tomorrow after I take The Johnny Cash Show back to the library.

Rinse the blood from my toga!
give me a martinus.
you mean martini.
no.
when I want two I will ask for them!
Wayne and Schuster.
Canadians.
Very funny guys.
heeheehee.

thats all folks...
