its only words...

Ludwig Wittgenstein may have fancied himself as a psychotherapist but there is no record of him ever undergoing any sort of psychological analysis or training or even though they were both resident in Vienna at the same time , any meeting with the master Sigmund Freud.
Very Strange.
The weasel Karl Popper didn't take up the opportunity either!
any reading of Wittgenstein reveals that he himself had psychological problems and difficulty adjusting to everyday people.
To come out and say that philosophy qua philosophy is a therapy in itself is pure balderdash.
Even worse is it had given any pimply faced academic the ability to claim that his philosophy is therapeutic sui generis.
Now we have all these numbskulls making claims for stuff that they think they know.
In other words these geeks in the philosophy departments and especially at Victoria University have taken on the mantle of psychotherapists for themselves with no training whatsoever except their own overweening pride and belief in their non existent abilities.
It Stinks.

Bertrand Russell

Bertie knew when people thought their own thoughts were facts and he had no trouble at all bowing to the master.

sometimes a cigar is just a cigar!

more nonsense in the Dompost this morning.
an article claims that Americans have already stopped listening to Obama. what rot. The writer Michael Evans of THE TIMES seems to think that somehow because there is no election or campaigning at the moment that all political activity has ceased to exist and that Obama is just marking time till he leaves office.
Where does Evans get this simplistic view from?
Is he being told to produce this sort of mumbo jumbo by his editor or is he just interviewing his typewriter.
coming out with this sort of ad hominem crap while the world is facing momentuous issues is risible and demeaning for a once proud newspaper.
syndicating it is even worse.

anyway kiddies.
tonight Prime TV has a a 2 hour doco on the who.
should be good.
Found a cheapy dvd recently at the redshed where Pete claimed that Keith only had one beat and it was either fast or slow made me laugh.
I had to listen very carefully to check the substance but hey so what.
It worked and they still have pride of place in my collection and recollection of the greatest music ever made.
You bet!
