the further one travels the less one knows....

“Begin each day by telling yourself: Today I shall be meeting with interference, ingratitude, insolence, disloyalty, ill-will, and selfishness – all of them due to the offenders’ ignorance of what is good or evil. But for my part I have long perceived the nature of good and its nobility, the nature of evil and its meanness, and also the nature of the culprit himself, who is my brother (not in the physical sense, but as a fellow creature similarly endowed with reason and a share of the divine); therefore none of those things can injure me, for nobody can implicate me in what is degrading. Neither can I be angry with my brother or fall foul of him; for he and I were born to work together, like a man’s two hands, feet or eyelids, or the upper and lower rows of his teeth. To obstruct each other is against Nature’s law – and what is irritation or aversion but a form of obstruction.”

― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Funny day today.
There is an abating norwester and its warm and clammy even though its overcast.
Plenty of water in the Waignawa.
Picked up a Wairarapa times Age in the coffee bar and two items caught my attention.
Mainly because I went to Wellington yesterday.
First one was Victoria University is slipping down the rankings.
Of course it is.
The place seems to have turned inot an overgrown internet cafe inhabited by solipsistic nitwits looking for their own mind.
The bookshop is a mess and the library catalogue is not easily availlable to returning graduates.
and books are missing in the Library.
The Encyclopedia of Psychoanalysis is gone (politicised homosexuals who cant handle the truth) and Bettleheims bio ( disgruntled Jungians who cant handle Bettleheim exposing Jungs big lie).
What the hell is going on?
The fact of the matter is this. The staff at Victoria University are so busy pandering to the youth that they have forgotten what they are there for in the first place.
The other problem is the current cadre of pedagogues in the Philosophy Department who seem to think that they are psychotherapists to boot.
Nup.
Try as they might it is axiomatic that people need psychoanalysis so they can work it out for themselves.
No amount of training or advice from well read eggheads is going to do the trick and furthermore this department is infecting the rest of Victoria University by projecting their own needs on to the student body at large who are basically infantilised anyway.
Secondly.
an item on the size of seats on the TranzMetro service from Wellington and quoting Luther toloa. I myself am  a larger person and I was quite comfortable.
I once asked Luther toloa for advice and all I got was this bullshit lecture so maybe he should think of going on a diet and reducing the size of his fat head!

LAST MAN STANDING!

BIC.
The Labour Government intervened to introduce import substitution in the middle of the last century to try and counterbalance the farming bloc but it was never going to work. When it comes to mass producing articles New Zealand is always going to be competed out of the race.
I know that is unpalatable but it is the truth.
