There they go. The press at it again.

Any student of America during WW11 will know that it was half the battle to stop the press trying to run the strategy of the battlefield themselves by whispering in Roosevelts ear.

The same thing is happening now  viz a viz Afghanistan.

The tragedy unfolding there at present is unstoppable and it will be necessary to let the dust settle before any judgements can be passed.

One of the lessons from Iraq is that democracy will not work when the rule of law is trumped by tribalism.

There was never going to  be victory in Afghanistan unless the US adopted total warfare against the entire population which is something the junior jimmy olsens seem unable to conceive.
