lovely day today. everyfing going gangbusters.
not good at the parliament though.
the speaker has banned the use of the word privatisation.
the speaker is a member of the party in power and that party used the word first and now the speaker is ruling it out of order.
he is trying to define the word out of existence so that oppostion to the sale of state assets is cloaked and smothered under euphemism to diffuse intent of the national parties depredations on the treasury.
Grant Fox. why is rugby getting the thumbs down? perhaps we are rugbied out already. The NZRFU have handed over the marekting to the advertising agencies and they have almost buried it inder a welter of puerile, juvenile advertising with the one using dan carter especially creepy that is turning the public off in droves.
rugby is not a brand and trying to make it one then opens it up to all the vicissitudes of selling merchandise. think hula hoops.
and the call for announcers to be more formal also has him scratching his head. Grant did you listen to the south african commentators on the crusaders stormers semi final. they are the model of terseness and clear speech and to the point anlysis. their commentary is not riddled with endless interrogatives is it?The Brotherhood of the Rose: A Novel (Mortalis)First BloodThe League of Night and Fog: A Novel (Mortalis)The Fifth Profession They seem to be men while our commentators carry on like the ill educated barely literate boys that they are.
did you get all that Grant?
