peckinpah retrospective...

Watched Ride The High Country last night.
Still as good as it ever was!
Joel Mcrea and Randolph Scott excellent as mature leading men and Warren Oates shows up too.
all round 5* effort.
A magnificent example of the cinematographers art and craft.
they dont make em like that no more.
mores the pity.

Tonight I'll get the Wild Bunch out of the box and give it a spin while I listen to The BLues HOur on Radio ArrowFM with Dave Sinton.
will be a cracker Friday night.
whooeeee.

Been banging on a bit lately about folk singing and hey presto I found a copy of UNCUT magazine in the sally store with a big article on LLewyn Davis and then today I found the soundtrack with bonus tracks in the Warehouse.
Who's zoomin who?
hehehehehehehe.
anyway its a sort of mini bio of American folk singer Dave Van Ronk who was a Grenwhich Village agitator for social justice in the 50's and 60's and taught a lot of people how to play and sing.
