manager@cartercourt.co.nz the truth is out...

When did the Carter Society stop being a friendly society and become a business?

Have they disincorporated and given themselves share parcels?

Fudge...

Have received an e-mail this morning from the manager of the above establishment telling me I have no right to question the actions of the 'GARDNER" (sic).

The manager has interposed herself between the residents and the owners and there is no way of contacting the owners without her reading my mail.

The last time I complained she denied ever having received my letter.

The fact of the matter is that the gardner (sic) has no qualifications at all and the trees in question are not part of the communal gardens but have been there since Porritt Place was first established and were planted to give shade and respite to the residents.

Cutting them down for firewood for the employees was reprehensible and the ird should be alerted to the fringe benefits tax. 5 loads of firewood at $300 a load is   a nice little perquisite

This manager has already had one go at me via the Tenancy Disputes Tribunal  because I objected to indiscriminate spraying around the property and I would welcome another opportunity to present a case and have these people stand up in a court and defend their actions.

The Carter Society, Carterton, New Zealand...

This is the entrance to Carter Court rest home in Carterton New Zealand.

It is supposedly owned by the community but they never publish any notice of meetings and it is impossible to contact them [the carter society] without correspondence being opened by the staff at the rest home.

When I complained to the manager when the gardener tried to assault me she denied ever receiving the letter!

this weekend I was slandered and sworn at by the groundsperson but there is no recourse if the mail is opened by the staff and any complaints disposed of in the circular file

apparently I am a shit person, the other residents are shit people, porritt place is an all round shithole and I am a pervert and this particular person "knows" all about me!!!!!

If this isn't bad enough I have been talking to residents of the home who say the place has taken on a very bad atmosphere since the new manager was appointed without the job being advertised.

It also appears that the Manager has been appointed without their credentials or bona fides being examined!

things can only get worse.

Carter Court has almost ceased to be a rest home but more an income stream for management and anybody who gets in the way will be disposed of.

last man standing...

Its a long story but I will try not to bore you.

I live in what is supposed to be a protected environment.

It used to be owned by the Carterton District Council but they ended up selling it to The Carter Society for $1.

People come and people go. Either by ambulance, hearse or next door into the home.

The manager of the rest home was plucked from toastmasters because somebody liked her and given the gig for which she is entirely unsuited and it appears her credentials and bona fides were never investigated.

She rules by fear aided and abetted by sneaks and tattle tales. Apparently the atmosphere in the home has really tanked.

Nobody likes her and they dont like the woman employed to mow the lawns who basically is an enforcer if you know what I mean. When she abused one of the residents and the manager just swept it under the carpet. hmmmmmmmmmm.

I have seen quite a few come and go from the other half of my unit but the latest is a cro magnon and when he moved in the first thing he said was he wanted to get rid of the tree outside his place!

This guy told me that when he moved into a rented home in Wainuiomata the first thing he did was remove all the rose bushes on the property.

There was a lovely lavender bush in the margin around his place and when he knew I liked it he killed it!

To cut a long story short the mower woman was suborned into telling the manager that the two trees needed to come down because they were lifting the concrete pavement and the footpath needed smoothing. So how do you smooth out a raised pavement? It may be that the footpath needed remedial work but that would be the decision of a qualified person. Anybody in the world is at liberty to come and look for themselves. Furthermore if work of this nature was to be carried out then the pavement would have to be totally removed and then relaid and then then any roots could have been excised at that point rather than felling the trees themselves.

This whole episode is a sorry travesty of management that really have no idea except to help themselves to a very large load of free firewood with a whole load of spurious excuses.

She got the go ahead with no engineers report and managed a nice little earner for her and her husband at a days pay for both plus four loads of free firewood @ $300 a load thats $1200 clear and free. Would this encourage fringe benefit tax?

Talking to the shit people of porritt place (her words)  the decison was made some time ago but I was never informed.

This is a terrible act of vandalism and philistinism when global warming is rampant and every tree counts.

que son valley poem plus...

it was different back then
hunting squirrels and crows with my 4.10
roaming the woods and the fields
hunting for fun not for a meal
yep , different then
crossing the streams and the glens
not much of a kick from that 4:10
back when the woods were your friend
had nothing to fear but the game warden
cause a hunting license I hadn't bought'n
different then
and when I came home and went out back
went a quarter mile and thought I'd be attacked
killed a squirrel who'd just had kits
called myself a dumb shit
hung up the gun and never went again
yep , things were sure different back then
back before I hunted men
and when I was hunted by them.

I get 2 birthdays every year

one is drawing near
for if not for one I'd never have another
Hats off to my brothers
those who I hope celebrate
we who evaded fate
fought the demon escaped its wrath
still walk the path
So here's to all of you
I'll say a prayer as I add another candle to
a day, a date, a place, a time
when I began this life of mine.

if it ain't one thing its another...

went to peel a couple of spuds for my tea and the spud peeler is gone.

someone had a key to my unit a while back and used to come into my unit and re-arrange things!

and whaddaya know joe the spud peeler is gone

just like that. is the mystery mangler back or was it a crime of opportunity when a certain person was admitted to my unit

you have to watch it in these small towns.

some of the people with high opinions of themselves and too tight underpants think they can mess you around when ever they get the chance.

Like this morning walking down the main street and mr big shit parked his bike on the footpath and then came at me as I was walking along!!! I never budged and he gave way. I dont think he liked the idea of being hauled before the beak for assault. damm. was looking forward to hiring the local rumpole.

see the fact of the matter is if you live in a small town and dont have a car then you are at the mercy of the noo noo heads who can fuck you over in myriad small ways and get away with it.

memo to the carter society...

why have you allowed the maintenance staff to slaughter the japanese silk trees in porritt place.

who ga ve the nod to this ?

tree murder in porritt place carterrton...

today was woken up to the sound of a blunt chainsaw slaughtering the japanese silk trees in our street by two people who have no idea what they are doing.

Those trees have been here for a long time and on a whim they have been declared surplus by the nincompoops  who are not that stoopid that they don't get 8 free trailerloads of firewood and a days wages x 2 for committing this atrocity.

joe walker x-15 record...

On this date, Aug. 22, 1963: NASA Chief Research Test Pilot Joe Walker, on his 25th and last flight with the X-15 program, attempted to fly to maximum altitude. Engineers had predicted that the X-15 was capable of reaching 400,000 feet but simulations had shown that a safe reentry from that altitude was risky. For this flight, number 91, the flight plan called for 360,000 feet to give Walker a safety margin. Experience had shown that slight variations in engine thrust and climb angle could cause large overshoots in peak altitude, so this was not considered an excessive safety margin.
Walker and the X-15 were airdropped from the Boeing NB-52A Stratofortress the High and Mighty One at 45,000 feet above Smith Ranch Dry Lake, Nev., about half-way between Reno and the NASA High Range Tracking Station at Ely. Walker ignited the Reaction Motors XLR99-RM-1 rocket engine.
This engine was rated at 57,000 pounds of thrust. Experience had shown that different engines varied from flight to flight and that atmospheric conditions were a factor. Thrust beyond 60,000 pounds was often seen, but this could not be predicted in advance. The flight plan called for the duration of burn to be 84.5 seconds on this flight. The X-15 climbed at a 45-degree angle.
As Walker was about to shut down the engine according to plan, it ran out of fuel. The total burn time was 85.8 seconds, just slightly longer than planned.
Milton O. Thompson, in his book At the Edge of Space: The X-15 Flight Program, said of the flight, “At burnout, Joe was passing 176,000 feet and traveling at 5,600 feet per second. He then began the long coast to peak altitude. It would take almost 2 minutes to reach peak altitude after burnout. Two minutes does not seem like a lot of time but try timing it. Just sit back in your easy chair and count off the seconds

B25 prototype...

On this date, Aug. 19, 1940: At Mines Field (now known as Los Angeles International Airport), the first North American Aviation B-25 twin-engine medium bomber, serial number 40-2165, took off on its first flight with test pilot Vance Breese at the controls and engineer Roy Ferren in the co-pilot’s position. The airplane, North American model NA-62, serial number 62-2834, was developed from two earlier designs which had been evaluated by the U.S. Air Corps but rejected, and it was ordered into production without a prototype being built.

The first few B-25s built — sources vary, but 8-10 airplanes — were built with a constant dihedral wing. Testing at Wright Field showed that the airplane had a slight tendency to “Dutch roll” so all B-25s after those were built with a “cranked” wing, with the outer wing panels having very slight dihedral and giving it the bomber’s characteristic “gull wing” appearance.
The two vertical stabilizers were also increased in size. The B-25 was named Mitchell in honor of early air power advocate Brig. Gen. Billy Mitchell. A total of 9,984 B-25s, F-10 reconnaissance variants and U.S. Navy and Marine Corps PBJ-1 patrol bombers were built by North American Aviation at Inglewood, Calif., and Kansas City, Kansas. The last one, a TB-25J, remained in service with the U.S. Air Force until 1960.

now for something completely different...
