the louvin bros (ne loudermilk) box set from english re-issue house proper music arrived today. choc full of the good stuff. first rate mandolin leads backing the angel choir through 112 secular and gospel classics with the tastiest close harmonies this side of the everly brothers, buddy holly and the beatles.
the doors came in fifth in a "how to buy the doors" feature in the latest MOJO magazine out this month with loose windscream on the cover hehehe. This lp always seems to get insipid slightly disapproving revues compared to the first four but it makes up for the preceeding freudian/wagnerian bombast with a lyrical set that might seem litewait to the critics and their pens but is a brilliant counterpoint in its own right.
