took the kid next door

cut him up in little pieces

sent him home in folds and creases

first he tried booze then he tried Jesus

then he left so no one would believe it

said he'd be back that's what he said

said he'd come back but he never did

gave up the booze gave up the lord

and that's the last we ever heard
