so whatddaya know joe....

reading Berties masterpeice again.
(this is my third copy and this one was bought at Thornes Students' Booksellers at Newcastle on Tyne for 2 Pounds.)in 1971!!!!!!!

still reading the intro.
it takes time and maybe three scans.
getting ooooooold and sometimes it takes a little longer to sink in even when you think you already know it!
errrrk.
and the others.
a little bit there and a little bit there.
compare and contrast but dont lose the main theme.
it is obvious for example that Russell knew more about religion than sir james frazier.
true.
and his speculations no mater how abstract are in accordance with someone like Marvin Harris who is on the nail most of the time.
so it is possible to get both a description and an explanation but dont forget the further part to compare and contrast.
dichotomies for culture, trichotomies for trade and lobotomies for freaks.
hehehehehe
Now we have passed the classicism of Russells time and moved onto another rung of Wittgensteins ladder with the current cadre having no idea of how we got here.
oh yes.
get off your bums now!
and I must say that Berty would understand it immediately.

Great to see the Women of America sitting on Trubb.
Dont let up.
Find the women among you who really know and start making power speak to truth.
The boomers gave you the right to speak truth to power and now power must reciprocate and only you can do something about it.
come on baby let the good times roll...

"The Times They Are A-Changin'"

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

dig?
