Sunday morning. All is well. Nothing in the paper except the RWC Minister blowing his own trumpet.
To pretend that somehow staging the RWC was beyond the powers of New Zealand is disingenuous and smacks of trying to use the RWC as a lynchpin for domestic politics. If New Zealand could not organise this then we wouldn't really be capable of organising anything and that is patently untrue. That may be the rugby way to play the underdog and then come up trumps on the day but the organisation of the whole event should proceed under a better basis than that.
I hear the Warriors won the semi last night.
This is your year boys. Go all the way and smash the f*ckers. JUst for the hell of it!
My shoulder seems to be getting better since I stopped using the 2.5kg dumbells. Doh.
Listening to the radio wonks going on about the Horn Of Africa. A whole gang of pontificators orating so cogently and elegantly but they have not got a frigging clue. They busy blaming "The West" and colonisers and anybody else but they have not got any line on the "System". The flag followed trade not the other way around and the people that were called into existence over the last thirty years were because those people of reproductive age must have thought there was a possibility of promise and longevity. They are adventitous to the system and not t6he cause of it. and now they are part of the wittgensteinain ladder but they cant see where they came from. The guy on the radio is just another politician trying to garner sympathy and votes to further hiw own ambitions. There is no thought of any solution but grabbing aid from the The West. He says the main problem is poverty. Well giving money will not cause the poverty to go away. They never answer the question of how the poverty arrived in the first place.
Where did all these people come from?
Why wont anyone answer these questions?
Patman from Otago university is now going on about colonialism too.
Well Patman should explain the overpopulation linkage to colonialism instead of going on and on about colonialism as if if was possible to reify it and beat it up.
Its all pretty shabby.
