my baby loves the western movies...

got a cheapo of Nevada Smith yesterday.
Almost  a period piece now but still an excellent flic.
Steve McQueen was an A-list actor and the rest of the cast was top notch including Karl Malden and Susan Pleshette.
All action and great plot.
A prequel if you will to the Carpetbaggers which was another one of those penny dreadfuls turned into  at op dramatic cinematic experience only with Alan Ladd playing Nevada Smith.
The book was pretty good too.
Almost all action fiction can be directly traced back to the skillful novels of John Buchan aka Lords Tweedsmuir  (wot a flaming monniker!) but thats another story.

and...

while on the subject of carpetbaggers I urge Wairarapa electorate electors to vote for the Labour Party candidate Kieran Mcanulty on Saturday.
Kieran is a local boy with a good academic record and proven record of service to the people of this area.
He will be able to do things for this electorate that a tory yes man wont.
kemo sabby?
