fyi...

top albums of the twentieth century.

sitting here listening to Janis right now.
too much.
try just  a little bit harder.
and fyi whaleoil is the biggest slimiest saddest bag of shit that ever walked the earth.

just about blubber boy...

oh lord wont you buy me a mercedes benz...

Having a Byrd's trip at the moment.
Funny band.
It was always Mcguinns and he got most of the money in the end.
Thats the something the critics dont seem to want to explore.
For them its supposedly about art!
you know. ART!
waiting for the new strings on my Ibanez to settle down and then into it again.
My back pages is special. you can learn the melody going up or down the register and it fun either way.
I don't think Dylan knew exactly what he had wrought with that one!
Its like the old country chestnut 'crazy arms".
a Gregory walker progression which is total freedom for the guitarist to invent new melody lines every time you do the chorus.
Its fun looking up old songs knowing that you are never going to learn them the whole way through.
Looking for more shots of Felicia Dave.
You are being selfish.
Lets see the girl.
she makes the sun shine!
Talking of sunshine.
I need a car so I can get out of here!
I need a holiday.
It doesn't have to be a mercedes benz!
California Dreamin' on such a winters day

seeyalater Janis.

I'm thinking tonight of my blue eyes...

not much to report to day.
last night it blew like a thousand furies.
huffed and puffed.
this morning I am in Greytown using the free wi-fi.
Every time there is a blip in my security it seems as if whole albums get wiped out of my music library.
Then I have to delete the shells  out of windows and re-rip them.
its painful but necessary.
last ones to go were a double Ike & Tina Turner set from Prism Leisure and another double "THEM" set from Deram. I thought I had actually lost the hard copy but no I found it yesterday.
By the way the "Universal Masters" collection has a stand out set of Ike Turner showcasing his immaculate blues playing in all keys and permutations.
Plus a Warehouse special Carter Family compilation that was only $2.99 when I got it a while back but it has all the good ones on it so you don't have to go fiddling and fartassing around to get all the good songs on the playlist.

I listened to Kathryn Ryan this morning on Radio New Zealand talking about how pacific island and Maori students take much longer to pay off their student loans from University.
I was there in the 90's and it was the time when the Business Round Table had someone on the University Council who was going through all the ancillary business' and selling them off to his mates. Winz was busy sending people with intellectual difficulties and from the long term unemployed up to the university to enrol and the place was a fucking shambles. IN the background were the right wing commentators babbling a torrent of bullshit about how this was life as it was supposed to be according to Milton Friedman and doing their best to gum up the whole works in a miasma of bullshit and confusion.
They are trying to have another go right NOW!
New Zealanders know all the right words and the jargon but when push comes to shove they cant actually do anything but make a proper fucking mess!
That sounds tragic but its true.
The place is filled with mouth all mightys'.
Exactly the same patten now as the National government seeks to introduce charter schools which have absolutely nothing to do with education but everything to do with people with no qualifications but clout on the system to produce wages and salaries for themselves.
This another sorry tragic mess that the next government will have to reverse to restore sanity to a system that is being threatened with total infantilism.
New Zealand once gain reveals itself to be childish and spineless when it comes to doing the right thing.

Kimmy dont go....

sorry to hear the Hurricanes lost last night.
I was reading the Masterton District Councils draft annual plan and it put me to sleep.
larfs.
it sounded like a close game on the wireless and at 18-16 to the highlanders it must have been a tough encounter.
According to official figures Hurricanes shot down more aricraft than any other in WW11.
How about that.
anyway the plan had a sheet to tell us what you think and I will but something must be done immediately about the public toilet in the the Masterton Public library.
you go in there for a leak and the smell of sh*t clings to you for the rest of the day!
the place is rank and foul.
the staff must find it intolerable but nobody does anything!
I guess thats because new zealanders are so bamboozled by the advertising industry that they are now perfect and there is no such thing as shit!
good interview on Kim Hill this morning.
I missed the intro and the outro but it was very interesting indeed.
I noted that the interviewee ( I will find their name later) mentioned that Fairfax is busy running down circulation  for reasons of their own and I could not help but think that Radio New Zealand is doing the same thing when they employ manques like guyon espiner.

now for something completely different...
