ross sea reality...

about time.
lets hope it is not to little too late.
the world is rapidly arriving at a parlous state.
the upwardly mobile dweebs will compromise the whole planet for a new car and they dont give a shit how they get it.
it is known that a skilled zoologist can carve tiny pieces of an amoeba which will then scab and heal over and then do it repetitively till finally the amoeba expires.
How many chunks of the world need to go before the whole place just gives up the ghost?

it reminds me of a sci fi story I read back in the 50's about a space ship first officer arguing with the capatian of the spaceship about having to stop off at the rotten little planet earth that was completely f*cked but a few humans were still clinging on.
hmmmmmmm

calling out around the world..

and Rhys from LIberty Books loaned me the Martha Reeves CD from his own personal stock.
whammo dudes.
They could never really top such a 45rpm vinyl masterpiece.
Are you ready for a brand new beat?
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancing in the street.
They're dancing in Chicago,
Down in New Orleans,
In New York City.
All we need is music, sweet music.
There'll be music everywhere.
There'll be swinging and swaying and records playing,
Dancing in the street.
Oh, it doesn't matter what you wear,
Just as long as you are there.
So come on, every guy, grab a girl.
Everywhere around the world
They'll be dancing.
They're dancing in the street.
It's an invitation across the nation,
A chance for folks to meet.
There'll be laughing, singing, and music swinging,
Dancing in the street.
Philadelphia, P.A.
Baltimore and D.C. now.
Can't forget the Motor City.
All we need is music, sweet music.
There'll be music everywhere.
There'll be swinging and swaying and records playing,
Dancing in the street.
Oh, it doesn't matter what you wear,
Just as long as you are there.
So come on, every guy, grab a girl.
Everywhere around the world
They're dancing.
They're dancing in the street.

and Muddy?
pulled one of his more obscure EEC Dutch compilations out last night and had a real blast playing along with a few numbers at slow tempo in E.
Just the way to keep the chops up!

baby you're a rich man too...

Baby, You're A Rich Man"

How does it feel to be
One of the beautiful people?
Now that you know who you are.
What do you want to be?
And have you travelled very far?
Far as the eyes can see

How does it feel to be
One of the beautiful people?
How often have you been there?
Often enough to know
What did you see when you were there?
Nothing that doesn't show
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man too
You keep all your money in a big brown bag inside a zoo
What a thing to do
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man too

How does it feel to be
One of the beautiful people?
Tuned to a natural E
Happy to be that way
Now that you've found another key
What are you going to play?
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man too
You keep all your money in a big brown bag inside a zoo
What a thing to do
Baby, baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man too
Baby you're a rich man
Baby you're a rich man
Baby, baby you're a rich man too (fade out)

Went to Upper Hutt yesterday.
Gathering of the olds.
Great to have a yarn with the proprietor of Liberty Books @90 Main Street.
we share the same taste in music and the same vintage.
plus he has great stock of books and stuff.
amazing.

we both agree that Baby You're A Rich Man is a premier Beatles song and the Magcial Mystery Tour album is a cut above the rest.

I have the video of the Tour and it is a nice little period piece with the Beatles showing off to a backdrop of extras from the Carry On Movies.
hehehehehehehe.
The other bus is from the other place with a much bigger backdrop and everywhere furtehr away from anywhere else.
Like out there dude!
My personal Beatles fave actually after Please Please Me.

poison iveeeeayeeyay...

just an afterthought but listened to Jessie Mulligan and he was talking to Jim Keeble of Organic Gardening fame.
way to go Jim.
wish something could be done about the noonoohead from next door (cartercourt).
he walks round with a spraypack killing everything.
he spent an hour yesterday applying water blaster with some sort of spray nozzle cleaning a 30 foot footpath of moss etc.
It could all have been done in 5 minutes with a good stiff broom and some elbow grease.
this guy does not know what a broom is nor does he pick up any rubbish but somehow he fritters away the budget on stupid struff like punching through a weed barrier to put unnecessary shrubs in.
the guy is clueless.

more stupidity.
q: what is a criminal?
a: someone who believes that they can get what they want without working for it.
q.e.d.
a whole cadre of ignorant doogooders who think their own thoughts are facts are about these days who think they can rationalise with criminals to make them change their ways.hahahahahahaha.
nup.
it doesn't work like that but I suppose if you are an ex-cop with big tickets on yourself then you can get all the community support you want and never have to justify any of it.

when a good cigar was only 10c...

now for something completely different...
