memo to will jordan...

 hi dude

dig your style

sorry to hear about you migraine trouble

without going in to details I was a migraine sufferer too for a long time and as I see it it was induced by eating the  same diet day after day and consuming too much food with preservatives and other chemicals.

I was brought up on the classic kiwi diet of meat potatoes and two veg.

I never had a migraine till I had to fend for myself and took the easy way out and ate too much of expensive but not GOOD food.

now I mainly skip the meat, rely on veges and eat as much fresh fruit as my wallet can stand and an orange every second day.

keep it simple

kick start your recovery with vitamin c tabs.

okay?

I aint a doctor but take my advice on this one

Love Bertrand Russell.

GOAT. hehehehehehe.

still working over the set of all sets that are not members of themselves. If it exists then it is a member of itself if and only if it is not a member of itself.

got it?

along with Godels work some of the greatest philosophy ever made concerning what there is and why it isn't.

Have been chewing this one over  and refreshing my brain  whenever I need illumination on this or that point.

Today I opened the book (Cambridge Companion to Philosophy) on page 515  which contains the last of the L's ending on Lyotard.

I positively detest obscurantists from whichever discipline and Lyotard fits that bill.

popper, lacan, levi-strauss and a whole host of other intellectuals and dimwits who chose to hide behind the word.

The contributor in the volume is one Professor Christopher Norris from Cardiff University who finishes his sketch on leotard with this; make of it what you will,"what this amounts to in short is a melange of wittgensteinian, post structuralist, and kindred ideas presented in an oracular style that raises bafflement to a high point of principle!"

russell's paradox...

In mathematical logic, Russell's paradox (also known as Russell's antinomy) is a set-theoretic paradox published by the British philosopher and mathematician Bertrand Russell in 1901. Russell's paradox shows that every set theory that contains an unrestricted comprehension principle leads to contradictions.

Russell's Paradox is the theory that states: If you have a list of lists that do not list themselves, then that list must list itself, because it doesn't contain itself. However, if it lists itself, it then contains itself, meaning it cannot list itself.

michael bloomfield at 17...

Michael Bloomfield: "When I was 17, I thought I was good enough to gig in black places and hold my own. You had to hold your own. If you shucked, then you had no business being there. You'd not only be a white kid, you'd be a fool. You'd be a punk and a fool....Several guys took me to be almost like I was their son—Big Joe Williams, Sunnyland Slim, and Otis Spann. They took me to be like their kid, man; they just showed me from the heart. They took me aside and said, 'You can play, man. Don't be shy. Get up there and play.' What I learned from them was invaluable. A way of life, a way of thinking, a whole kind of thing—invaluable things to learn. I used to hear Elmore James, Sonny Boy, Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Albert King—way before they were known anywhere but the ghetto....I was interested in it from a musicological standpoint. I was trying to discover where the old blues singers lived. I met cats like Washboard Sam and Jazz Gillum and Tommy McClennan and Kokomo Arnold. I used to have a band with Big Joe Williams....By then it was a scholarly thing. Like Paul Oliver and Sam Charters, I wanted to know the story of the blues, and the best way for me to learn was to actually meet the guys."
