keepers of the flame...

cult news.

the goods. plucked this out of the cupboard this morning for no good reason.

then realised that here it all is. the stones at their greatest before stardom truly set in.

this gang brings together the best of american blues, soul and rhythm and blues and produces the greatest synthesis of musical style since jazz began.

at the birth of the stones america was a treasure house of music pouring forth in veritable fountains from regional studios all over the country vying for the jukebox dime and the live engagements. it was competitive and  burgeoning in the gap between the ghetto and the white sugarcoated piffle on the radio.

there was the everly brothers, buddy holly and the king Elvis but the guts of the machine was muddy waters, freddy king, chuckleberry and a whole holy host of others.

when blues became the underground music of kids in england  and some of them began to play then whammo. it was all on.

somehow keith richards and brian jones mastered the intricacies of elmore james and chuck and made it their own in powerhouse displays of the chugga chugga wokachow!

its all here in these tracks and oneday when this music is rediscovered then this will be the lodestone

a little secret all of its own. out of the plethora, nay deluge of music released in that time. who has the time and inclination to dig through the whole lot and then pass judgement. who will that person be? who has got the ears as they used to say? maybe they still say that but dont matter because its mostly idiot piffle anyway. hehehe.

now for something completely different...
