every day I get in the queue... beauteous butch...

Joseph McConnell

Eddie Rickenbacker

get on the bus that takes me to you....
too much magic bus...
Beauteous Butch was the name painted on Joseph Mcconnells F86s that he flew in Korea scoring 16 victories over the North Korean forces making him the top jet ace of the Korean War and probably the top jet ace of all time.
Sadly he died testing a new version of the F86 and his story was dimmed but his name will live on.
As for the Who. They were a group of likely lads who made it out of East London on to the world stage with a brand of maximum r&b and kept the American Economy buoyant pumping up the people when it needed confidence in production to keep the whole thing going.
hmmmm.
Local stuff.
Mayor of Carterton Ron Mark telling it to the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency who want to limit the Wairarapa Area to one seat only in a new merger of bureaucratic trajectories.
hehehehehehe.
Nobody ever knows just exactly what these people do anyway but they seem to know how to spend other peoples money with gay abandon and never have to account for it.
Not only that but they think we are all yokels over here and 'marks' for their own programmes of personal economic advancement if they can spot an opportunity.

Had to turn off Radio New Zealand National this morning.
The bias from the two new presenters is becoming more and more evident every day.
Long gone are the days when appointment to these positions conferred automatic status in the community.
Both of them will be gone in a couple of years but the damage they are doing to the spirit of the community will last a lot longer than that.
Fergusson and Esopiner are hacks pure and simple and have been installed to further the political aims of the supposedly apolitical board who are now in control.
Fergusson and Esopiner are both anal retentives and whiners and each word seems to require just about more effort than they are prepared to give.
If you listen to them carefully it is obvious that that they are infantilised adults with huge resentments and determined to use their positions to get their own back on a world that never treated them properly.
Esopiner especially thought he was just going to ride in and sail away on a tide of kiss my ass but the sooner he is replaced  with a real man the better.

Had to laugh at Mark Reasons gratuitous piece on the All Blacks playing a test in Samoa. According to him its all about money but talk to the players.
They know that if they go to any P.I. nation to play rugby thye are going to get bashed up. Every local boy will have a story to tell for life if they can break an arm or a leg.
wise up dude.
Take off the rose tinted spectacles.

btw.
still waiting for that car.

so the sausage wrapper has a front page headline that says 'call for shake up of CBD".
It needs more than a shakeup.
Masterton has become sclerotic.
too many people have moved in and settled down into an inertia less complacency.
Many things have to be done but they cant be done by ukase or by relying on those who sit in offices and know everything but never seem to accomplish anything.
You know. The marketeers who want to de-authenticate everything and produce a mac town!
For a start the town needs a new library.
It is too small and the building is a shocker.
It was only ever a dinky job put up to massage the councillors egos and make believe that it was up to the job when it wasn't even then
On the other side the titles to the sections have to be consolidated. It is no good trying to go into the twenty first century with land use being circumscribed by ideas from the 19th century.
Furthermore the town needs a proper local radio station.
One that is controlled in Masterton and not by some corporate sending in a feed from Auckland.
A micro pulse would cover the whole Wairarapa valley from Landsdowne and give local people a chance without having to pay for access and become part of the current office holders clique at the supposed access radio station.
It is a joke.
The local access radio is in no way representative of the people in this region and people should know that.
I don't pretend to have all the answers but the place to start is finding someone to go out and talk to people and listen to them.
Forget surveys and forms and focus groups.
That is just fodder for the geeks in the jobs now.
At the moment the place is just chasing its tail.
The Berl report from the 90's says it all as far as the numbers stack up but thats all.
Time to get rid of the dead wood and do something properly.
