crawdaddy simone and other music biz mysteries...

Having fun last night playing music I usually omit when I'm making up playlists and checking up on Wikipedia or other text sources.
It seems whoever writes up the lovely Tanya Tucker always forgets to mention she sang the great brothel song "Bed Of Roses".
The Statler Brothers do a good version  but as it is a womans song it just aint the same.

Ditto for the Who. ON the above my generation album the track listing includes their version of Bald Headed Woman. One of those late fifties nonsens R&B numbers like High Heeled Sneakers of UM UM UM UM UM.
But the it comes out as another song Crawdaddy Simone!
Cool lil ditty but it aint Bald Headed Woman!
dang.
Have it on a Kinks cd so all good.
It took quite a while to download a pic of the album cover
Is Pete embarrassed?
And I couldn't get a cover of Joe Meeks version either.
???????????

The other one is one of P.J. Proby's little masterpiece The Masquerade Is Over which is never on any compilation and on a cd that always seems to be out of print.
I use to listen to it on youtube but they wont let me on anymore without watching endless ads that make their service impossible or paying up.
hmmmmm.
