The local newspapers are full of articles about rates rises but the incumbents at Masterton District Council are determined to squander $30,000,000 (and the rest) on a totally unnecessary  NEW town hall.

Nothing is any good anymore unless it is NEW.

Doesn't matter how tacky or jerry built like the hospital but it has to be NEW!

I have been told that mayor lin padderson is a good labour person but that does not mean that she is not stupid and egregious in a determination to spend money that doesn't belong to her.

I was born and bred in Masterton and nobody I know wants this excressence except the NEW people and the others who haven't got a bloody brain in their heads.
