the machine in the ghost...

Which came first? The chicken or the egg?

those were the days all right.
you can still see those stands around the place in country towns outside shops where there is a selection of Music World CD's.
(Why has Hoghton Hughes never received the honour he serves for services to NZ Music?)
anyway music world put out a whole series of VHS vids of 60's music that were tres cool and even cooler now.
I just plain forgot how good groups like the Hollies were in their prime.
They dont have groups now.
they have haircuts and expensive guitars their mommies bought them.
anyway Mary Hopkins was great and I read that her mentor Paul McCartney has now given up pot for the sake of his grandchildren.
Instead he has taken up- drinking wine????
whatcha gonna do now Paul. A Hasselfhoff on the kitchen floor to amuse the kiddies?
Well Paul you should never do things like that for someone else.
It makes them and you co-dependent and pre-supposes that they are incapable of making up their own minds.
hey try some Paul Pot.
killer dope!

and a groovy version of Fleetwood Mac doing Albatross.
They ripped it of Chuckles but hey boppa re bop.
anyway Mick Fleetwood had a minimal drum kit.
1 bass, snare, two toms, hi hat, cymbal but still he got the sound!
yeaaaahhhhhh.

I see Lee Tamahori has another KIWI movie in production.
yawn.
another Witi Ihimaera job.
the ninnies at the film commission still trying to prove that they are intellectuals.
yawn.
why dont they just give Lee $200,000 to write a proper movie instead of this stultifying cultural cringe.
They sure know how to waste money on pretentious bullshit.
What did Robert McKee say when he came to NZ.
The film makers here should read more comics.

They make the same mistake every time.
Read AJP Taylor on writing history.
They all pick a subject that no one is really interested in.

Mayor of Dunedin Dave Cull has had some learnings after the flood.
So what was is the lesson Dave?
Kiwis have a nasty habit of grovelling up to ex AB's and swallowing their pronouncements whole.
WTF is a learning?
something John Kirwan dreamed up to distinguish himself from all the other goofball nitwits around the place who think they have the answer to everything..
He was never any good till he got a punch in the nose and there was blood but now he has got the whole country bamboozled with this nonsensical garf.
Hasn't he?

now for something completely different...
