a wop bop a loop bop a lop bam boom...or what happened to the music

What happened to the music?
The melodies have become trite and trivial and the changes have become non-existent and the the loud button has been pushed to 11.
In short we have been sold a bill of goods.
can you imagine anything s complicated as Friday On MY Mind,or Afterglow or Uncle Johns Bnad making the charts now.
Its all been dumbed down for dumbasses.
Just look at the bands who appear daily on the Late Show with David Letterman.
I say look beacuse there is nothing to listen to.
They all sound the same and they cant play!
How many of them have so caught your imagination so that you had to race out and buy their offering.
I say offering because they are like infants who have done their first crap in the potty and now they are busy running around seeking approval for exercising their bowel function.
What really irks me is that I personally want to believe that there is something new and groovy just around the corner but the reality is that music doesn't mater any more.
Its the look that counts and how many units you can sell before the next one comes along.
If this is twenty first civilisation then thee is something radically wrong with it.

Pseudo Science
For readers outside new zealand there was a case in the 1990's where a man Peter Ellis was convicted of a whole series of nonsense charges and sentenced to a lengthy term of imprisonment.
The evidence against him was connected to a book on repressed memories, satanic rituals, and multiple pesonality gibberish and speculations.
all this was nonsense and the worst thing about all this is that there was no one in New Zealand prepared to come forward and say so.
Congratulations to Ellis who would not accept parole and retained his right to seek a pardon.
Today in the dompost , columnist Bob Brockie rightly calls this whole thing pseudo science.
However I suspect Brockie of being a Popperist and anti Psychoanalysis on the basis of the weasel  Karl Poppers logic.
Popper was a little grub who arrived in Vienna in the 1920's and was rebuffed by the Vienna Circle because he wanted to discuss interesting questions instead of  recent scientific discoveries in physics and psychology.
Popper went off and schemed and plotted till he worked out a system to dismiss science and psychcoanalysis to boot.
He Karl Popper was above having his psyche analysed.
He was a perfect specimen.
Anyone who has followed Poppers career will realise that he was anti science and a narrow little man whose main interest in life was getting even with those who had rubbished him.
Hardly a basis for rational discussion and in his last interview he skited about how he had put a spanner in the works.
Even today pure science ties itself up in knots when it comes to cutting the gordian knot with which Popper created to confound and annoy the people who were really doing stuff instead of just talking about it.

Education.
At the moment my mind wont come up with the word for education that means the student is given the tools to work it out for themself.
Heuristic?
Wikpedia is full of post modern blab and the old stuff has gone out the window. I mention this because even though I cant find the word it is still the basis of education in New Zealand.
When I was at school the teacher read to the class but later on in adult life I was a mmeber of a group with a common book and the process was that everyone was allowed a chance to read from the book and hey presto everyone DID want to read.
It makes you thunk.
dont it.

Barack Obama
Nice op-ed piece in todays rag about Fleet Street grilling the Mitt in London in a manner that is foreign to the USA.
It seems like the press in the USA cant ask the direct question but hides everything in a plethora of nonsense that doesn't mean anything.
I dont know if you can put the heat on the press in the US at this stage of the electoral cycle but it seems that the next Democrat is going to have take a new tack entirely if  the inanity is to cease.
