whoa back buck! and the super 15

Picked up another Charly BLues Masterpeices on Wednesday at the Redshed. Dont know why but they were chucking them out for $1.98.
anyway it was a Big BIll Broonzy album probably from Mercury sessions in 1951.
The singing is wonderful.
Clear and precise and the most beautiful diction you have ever heard.
I nearly cried when I heard it for the first time.
I was truly overcome.
See if you can find it somewhere or order it if you have to but GET IT!
Big Bill was sort of 'discovered' by Chris Barber and Alexis Korner in the early 1950's and brought to Great Britain where he almost started the Blues Boom single handed.
Listen to Eric Clapton and listen to this LP and you will hear where Eric got all his inspiration from.
Chraly also do a CD featuring all the early material tha the Rolling Stones plundered for their first records.
wonderful stuff by Muddy Waters, Jerry Reed,  Chuck Berry et al.
Great bar room blooz and it is very easy to see how these british kidzzz wwere able to learn from these records and then pu their own stamp on it.
The great thing is that when you learn to play the blues properly including phrasing, tone and fluency then you can almost play anything.
This seems to have been forgotten these days when all you have to do is hold a guitar, pay for aslot on Leno and stand still so people can grok your haricut!!!!!!
Hurricanes play the chiefs tonight.
go the Hurricanes.
Blow them away.
Piccies of Loretta and her sister Crystal Gayle because I was looking for a performance of Angel Band on YOutube this am but couldnt find a really good one or at least with the volume turned up.
I have Happy Traums "Bluegrass Guitar" instruction book with the song in it but you have to hear it before you try and sing it yourself.
the Stones look set to go out on their 50th anniversary tour.
I lashed out on the weekend and bought  a copy of Their Satanic Majesties Request on the plastic at amazon and I caint wait till it turns up.

first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is...

Circumcision in Germany.
"the purpose of propaganda is not to persuade but a device to see who is toeing the party line"
"Joseph Stalin"
Great to see Jews and Muslims co-operating on a matter of religious principle in Germany but it does them no good to try and have it enshrined in common law.
There is no legal justification for circumcision and at bottom it is a cultural institution the import of which is the province of social anthropology.
Any man made arrangement is capable of analysis by other men.
Dont get me wrong. I am circumcised (tee hee) and circumcision is a primary prophylatic against AIDS.
Very hard to know what is happening at the Pioneer Rugby club in Masterton if one only has the garbled news from the local rags.
the president of the club claims more or less that the trouble within the local union has descended on his club which has been scapegoated and humiliated for the actions of a few.
He claims that the decision to remove games from their own grounds is racist and he might well be right.
