thats the way it was in 1967...

Drugs are a waste of time.
Every addiction has as its primary goal to prevent the addict feeling their true thoughts and feelings.
Anne Wilson Schaeff
When Society Becomes an Addict.
Yes well.
According to Ferdnand Lundgren in The Rich And Super Rich In America no gang exists without the connivance of politicians and it must be true that the state is more powerful than any gang.
Hmmmm.
Hippy was necessary to lift the dead hand of conformity that the Eisenhower years had laid on the land not to mention the the crushing powers of the communist party in the Soviet Union.
In the 60's jobs were plentiful and the politicians believed their own rhetoric about a new world where everything was done by robots and ease and leisure for all was just around the corner.
Yeah right.
Well they have plunged the world into a race that no one can win.
The world has become despoiled and uglified and poisonous to boot.
Everyone that can afford a car beleives that somehow they have mad it thmeselves and they have acquired additional rights to poison and lay waste to any form of life that ofends them in their progress to nowhere.
Drugs are just a means to let people beleive that they have control over themselves at the very least.
Even the little old lady who lifts her mood with a cup of tea is doing tghe same thing as the opium addict lying in a slum in some eastern megalopolis.
It is the identical syndrome.
Hippys tried to do something but they all sold out in the end.
The state is always going to win.
They created a few cultural aertefacts but the ethos was swamped by the desire of politicians to produce goods for the masses who need them to acquire bragging rights over their peers.
simple as that.
The masses are living under the delusion that they have created the state but nada.
Initially maybe but civilisation has climbed a wittgensteinian ladder and like Marx's observation in the communist manifesto the state creates them!
Got it?
False consciousness mixed with desire to acquire is the brew and it cant be stopped till it has run its course.
